Support Dial-up Networking for Windows XP

To get to your Dial-Up Networking section in Windows XP, follow these simple instructions :

  1. On your desktop, right-click on the "My Network Places" icon and select "Properties". 
  2. From here, right-click on your SAMnet connection icon (likely named "SAMnet") and select "Properties".  
  3. Click on the "Networking" tab.  
  4. Be sure there is a check in the box next to "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)".  If there is not, click the box to add a checkmark.  
  5. Click on the "Settings" button. 
  6. Be sure there is a check in the box next to "Enable software compression".  If there is not, click the box to add a checkmark.  Close this window. 
  7. Click on the "Advanced" tab. 
  8. Be sure there is a checkbox in the section marked "Internet Connection Firewall".  If there is not, click the box to add a checkmark.
