The Technology
NetScreen products dynamically encrypt, screen and prioritize traffic in real time. The full-featured firewall component combines the technologies from packet filters, proxy servers and dynamic circuit-level packet filters, providing a comprehensive level of packet inspection and event logging. NetScreen's integrated VPN technology ensures that only the traffic intended for encryption gets encrypted. The traffic first has to match the access policy of the firewall before encryption is applied. 

Traffic shaping features provide network administrators with all the information needed to monitor and manage network traffic. Network control features such as bandwidth guarantee, traffic prioritization and server load-balancing make some of the NetScreen products ideal for web server farms and ISP co-location. High availability is ensured by linking multiple units.
